Land & Sea Survey Company were awarded the contract to provide survey services to Mott MacDonald for Exeter Strategic Flood Risk Mapping Study.  The project consisted of topographic surveys, structure elevations, channel and floodplain cross-sections of 16 watercourse in the River Exe Catchment totalling approx 20km.  Over 51000 points were measured to survey 325 channel and floodplain sections and 61 structures including mills, bridges and weirs.  Over 5000 photographs were taken and included within a report which accompanied the 181 A1 drawings (enough to span two full-sized football pitches)  ISIS modelling data files were produced for all cross sections and Bernoulli Loss units constructed for all openings.  The surveys were conducted using Robotic Total Stations and RTK GNSS.  Primary Control within the catchment area was established at E1 level with specialized computational assistance from University of Nottingham to accomodate the effects of Ocean Tide Loading
